An Angel of God

I asked for a sign
and I received a message.
Down you came -
an Angel of God.

I’ve been told
the light is so strong,
it cannot be looked in to.
I’ve been told
the wings are so vast,
you cannot find his eyes beyond them.
I’ve been told
Angels don’t fly to us,
they will not take us airborne.
I’ve been told
this is just how it is…
I’ve been told wrong.

I have seen the most beautiful of creations.
I have heard him breathing while he thought I slumbered.
I have felt the light emitted by him.
It does not glow, but it emits.
It is not warm, but it engulfs.
It does not bring comfort, but he does.

I just asked God for a sign
and He sent me an Angel.
